In this case, the Yamaha MT-07 2014 (no ABS) requires the purchase of the ARA-1 module + the ARA-K4A cable kit + the ARA-D08 speed sensor ring kit.

All the ARA components are listed in this section of the shop: ARA - Advanced Rider Assistant.

ARA Installation

The ARA requires a speed signal from both wheels. This allows it to know when a wheel is losing traction and so when to control the power.

ABS-equipped bikes already have speed sensors on both wheels, so these are the easiest bikes on which to install the ARA.
For bikes without ABS, a speed sensor and disc must be installed on the wheel without a factory sensor (usually the front wheel). Although wheel speed sensor kits in various sizes are available, mechanical skills are required and some modification may be necessary to fit the sensor ring safely.

Typical Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the ARA harness to the ignition coil signal wire. This may be using a plug & play harness or a direct connection, depending on the bike.
  2. Connect the ARA harness to the ABS module where fitted (two direct connections) or install the speed sensor disc for non-ABS bikes.
  3. Connect the ARA harness to the clutch switch signal wire.
  4. Connect the ARA harness to a 0v/ground point.
  5. Install the ARA control switch on the handlebar.
  6. Install the ARA LED status indicator.

There are pictorial installation guides available on the Healtech website, listed in the ARA section.

Using the HealTech iQSE Quickshifter easy system with the ARA

If your bike uses a QSH-Pxx cable to the ignition coils, the ARA-Kxx cable connects between the bike's harness (from the ECU) and the QSH cable. It must NOT be connected between the QSH cable and the coil.
