ACF-50 anti-corrosion treatment - 4 litres. Available as a spray or a liquid for larger applications, ACF-50 creates a barrier between the metal surface and moisture to stop and prevent corrosion. It is also an excellent lubricant and penetrating fluid, to free seized/oxidised components. Whether you use your bike daily in all weathers or are storing it for the winter, ACF-50 is the best protection available to stop rust from forming and for stopping existing corrosion from spreading. ACF-50: Test with salt water Features
How to use ACF-50ACF-50 is extremely liquid and very concentrated, so a little goes a long way...and continues to move over the surface! Spray a little at a time, collect any excess on a cloth to spread on other surfaces. Spray into the places where moisture generally collects…and leave it! ACF-50 is safe to apply on all surfaces – but not the brakes!! – leather, plastics too. It can also be sprayed directly into electrical contacts as it contains no water. Once protected, you can ride out in all weathers and simply wash off the road salt and dirt. Areas that are exposed to the elements may need to be treated more often (every few months) but in general an application of ACF-50 will last up to 12 months, protecting the engine heat-sinks, rivets, screws, switches and all those hard-to-reach places from moisture and damage. Plastics and leather are not harmed by ACF-50, in fact they get a moisture-repelling coating! ACF-50 - How to Apply it How does ACF-50 work?On existing corroded surfaces ACF-50 penetrates the corrosion layer, emulsifies and displaces the electrolyte from the metal to stop the corrosive process. The moisture is pushed to the surface of the corrosion or fluid where it evaporates. The treatment normally lasts up to 12 months, while the ACF-50 is chemically active. On new/uncorroded surfaces, the ACF-50 forms a barrier that prevents corrosion from starting. The liquid seeps into the smallest cracks and joints to displace moisture and prevent corrosion. ACF-50 - How it Works What is ACF-50?ACF-50 is more than 70% active product mixed with other stabilising compounds. Safety Data Sheet - Aerosol: English History of ACF-50ACF-50 was originally developed for use on aircraft for corrosion prevention, so was required to be high performance and meet the stringent testing generally applied to aviation products. It meets the US military specification MIL-SPEC 81309 II and III so is "approved for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, electrical systems and electronic components". The US Navy now use ACF-50 as their standard protection for aircraft and as general preventative maintenance. As ACF-50 is a specialist product, it is generally sold and distributed by aviation suppliers but is now widely-used for protecting motorcycles since they are more susceptible to corrosion than other vehicles.
