Headlight Shields, "Second Skin" Type (2) - Zero DSR/X 2023 onwards

These R&G Headlight Shields are made from a "Second Skin" Film and specially designed to fit specific bike models.

R&G Racing "Second Skin" is a flexible (stretchable) polyurethane film that is almost unbreakable and will protect your bike from small impacts such as stone chips and gravel from the road, and general abrasions and scratches from your jacket zipper, knees, and boots! It is also a barrier against road salt and tar.

The film is self-adhesive and is applied with a soap solution for easy positioning. While the adhesive is strong, the film can be easily removed in a single piece and leaves no residue.

Paint protection films have traditionally been used on race vehicles to maintain the custom sponsor paintwork in perfect condition throughout the race and on the most expensive luxury cars.
Now it is often found in small sections protecting the paintwork around car wheels but is essential for motorcycles having so many exposed surfaces.

The film is normally used to protect the most vulnerable surfaces such as:

• the tip of the front mudguard
• the front forks/shields
• the nose cone
• the leading edges of the fairings
• the tail/seat unit
• fuel tank (RG Racing Second Skin Tank Protectors)

Kit Contents

1. Pre-cut self-adhesive pieces.
2. Alcohol wipe for surface preparation.
3. Soap solution for easy/accurate positioning of the pieces.
4. Plastic "squeegee" for removing air from film/fixing film.

Installation

The pieces in the pre-cut kits are designed to be easily-manipulated and installed by the home-user.
The material has a high elasticity to allow it to be easily stretched over bodywork curves. The film uses a special adhesive that although strong, can be removed leaving NO residue whatsoever.

1. Clean the surface.
2. Moisten the surface with the supplied solution.
3. Moisten your fingers to prevent finder marks on the adhesive.
4. Remove the backing layer.
5. Place the piece on the wet surface and slide the piece to its correct position.
6. Moisten the exterior surface of the piece to allow the squeegee to slide over the surface easily.
7. Squeeze out the air bubble and moisture from under the film to allow the adhesive to touch the surface.
8. To stretch a piece over a curve, fix on section securly before stretching the remainder of the piece over the curve. Using pure water instead of the soap solution will allow the adhesive to bond faster. The adhesive bonding time can be reduced using a hair dryer, to enable quick adhesion to tight curves.

Both R&G "Second Skin" and "Eazi-Guard" are manufactured by Eazi-Grip Racing Products in the UK and the material is available in sheets with pre-cut sizes for general use.
