The crash bobbins included in this kit are BLACK.

Please note that these crash protectors are not proud of the fairing and so will not completely protect the plastic fairing in the event of a crash. R&G consider the protection of the frame and engine to be the primary concern. Protection of the fairing on this model would require the bobbin bolt/spacer to be too long and so increase the likelihood of damage to the frame due to the increased leverage in a crash situation.

The installation of these crash protectors does not require the drilling of the fairing.

Unlike most competing products, the mounting bolts are manufactured from de-embrittled high-tensile steel, designed to bend on impact and absorb the shock rather than shear or snap. Compression sleeves inside the crash bobbins allow the retaining bolts to be correctly torqued, ensuring they do not loosen due to normal vibration.
The bobbins themselves are resistant but designed to wear and will quickly brake a sliding bike in the event of an accident at speed.
