These crash protectors are installed behind the fairing to protect the frame and the main components of the bike, but not the plástic of the fairing panel.
Commonly used in AMA, World Superbikes and MotoGP racing, this style of protection is an alterative for customers who wish to preserve the original aesthetics of the bike, or who do not wish to cut the fairing. In most cases this option is cheaper than the equivalent standard crash protector.
