The SpeedoHealer CAN (SH-CAN) corrects the error on the speedometer for the latest motorcycles/ATVs that use a CAN-BUS system for transmitting digital data to the dashboard.

You can compensate for both the original/factory speedometer error and custom modifications such as a change of wheel size or gearing to have completely accurate speed display.

Why use a SpeedoHealer?

Motorcycle speedometers typically overread by 5% or more…we’ve even seen 18%!
Any other modifications such as wheel size and transmission gearing may add even more error to the reading and will also affect the odometer.

A SpeedHealer corrects that error so the speedometer is always 100% accurate.

Why do I need the SpeedoHealer SH-CAN?

Many modern motorcycles do not have a speed signal on a single cable that can be manipulated…all sensor data is transmitted together digitally via a CAN-BUS network that passes that information between the various ECUs and the dash.

The SpeedoHealer SH-CAN is the only solution for those vehicles with a CAN-BUS system, intercepting and modifying the CAN-BUS speed signal data.

It is compatible with most CAN-BUS systems and installation guides are available for many motorcycles on the HealTech website: look for SH-CAN here.

IMPORTANT: check your bike is compatible with this product BEFORE purchase:

Features

  • Calibrate the speedometer for 100% accuracy.
  • Kit includes the SH-CAN universal module, 6-wire universal cable harness and high-quality gel-filled jointing connectors.
  • Multiple installation guides available.
  • Configuration via an easy-to-use dedicated app (iOS/Android) by WiFi. No programming buttons or wires.
  • Automatic updates as new bikes are supported.
  • Calibration from -99.9% - + 9999.99% in steps of 0.1% for precise calibration for the most extreme modifications.
  • Show your true last top speed in the app at any time.
  • 100% weatherproof/sealed in epoxy.
  • All electrical inputs are protected against short-circuits, reverse-polarity and overloads.

How does it work?

The SpeedoHealer SH-CAN receives and interprets the CAN-BUS data.
It inserts the corrected speed data and re-transmits the new CAN-BUS data onto the dashboard.

The modified signal is based on the percentage error that you have calculated either by comparing the real speed (GPS) to the displayed speed or by a calculation based on the physical modifications you have made + an estimate of the factory error.

Installation

The CAN-BUS data is transmitted on two wires. These two wires must be cut and connected to the SpeedoHealer so the signal can pass through the SpeedoHealer.

Additionally, connections are required to a ignition/key-switched source of power and ground.

Six connections are required in total. The kit includes a universal harness with those six wires and high-quality, gel-filled 3M joint connectors.

There are multiple guides available for many bikes, but if there is no guide for your bike, please contact us.

Motorvista FAQ

  • When the module is first powered up, it broadcasts a WiFi access point named “SH-CAN” for a short time, indicated by the led flashing red.
If you do not connect to the module within the time allowed, the unit goes into standby and you will need to cycle the ignition to start the broadcast of the access point again.
  • The WiFi password is “HealTech” (with “H” and “T” in upper-case).
  • It is possible that your mobile device automatically drops the SpeedoHealer WiFi connection when it detects that the SpeedoHealer WiFi does not have internet access…and connects to some other WiFI that does have internet access.
See your network options to prevent this.
  • Although the app does not need an internet connection for the configuration, it is recommended that you use a device that does have a mobile data connection to allow the download and installation of firmware updates for the module.

Healtech FAQ

1.1 Why use this product?

With the SpeedoHealer, you can compensate for the factory speedometer error and have a precise speedometer even if you use a wheel size different from the factory size.

1.2. What parts do I need?

The SH-CAN comes in a kit consisting of the control module and a universal, 6-wire wiring harness. For compatibility, please refer to the Healtech Product Advisor.

1.3. Is it possible to temporarily disable the SpeedoHealer and restore the factory condition, e.g. for servicing or troubleshooting the bike?

Yes, you can turn off the calibration feature from the SH-CAN app

  1. Launch the SH-CAN app
  2. Swipe right to access the Main Menu screen
  3. Tap the ‘Bypass Mode’ button
  4. You can enable the SH-CAN anytime by tapping the ‘Bypass OFF’ button.

2.1. Do you have a kit for my bike?

Please use the Healtech Product Advisor to see whether the SH-CAN is listed for your motorcycle. If not, please contact us.

2.2. I have other HealTech products on my bike. Is the SH-CAN compatible with the other products?

Yes, it is designed to work with other HealTech products without modification.

2.3. Will the SH-CAN work with an aftermarket ECU?

Yes, it will work with an aftermarket ECU.

3.1. What is the installation procedure?

The SpeedHealer has to bridge the CAN-Bus so it can intercept the data. We supply illustrated installation guides for a wide range of motorcycles.

  1. Launch the SH-CAN app
  2. Swipe right to see the main menu screen.
  3. Tap the Quick Start button to see the list of available installation guides.
  4. The guides are also available on our website in the main menu as ‘Supplementary Manuals’.

4.1. Do I need to adjust anything after installation?

Start the SH-CAN app and follow the Quick Start.

5.1. Which phones and tablets are compatible with the SH-CAN app?

• All iOS devices running iOS 15.6 or later.
• All phones and tablets running Android 10.0 or later.

5.2. Is it difficult to set up the module?

No, you can either use the Precise calculation based on a GPS measurement or a Manual calculation based on the modifications you have made.

5.3. Does the SH-CAN app or module need an internet connection?

No. The module creates a WiFi hotspot (named ‘SH-CAN’).
Start the SH-CAN app on your phone and connect to this hotspot with your phone.
The WiFi password is “HealTech” (with “H” and “T” in upper-case).
Please be aware that your phone cannot connect to more than one WiFI network at a time, so while it’s connected to the SH-CAN module, the phone won’t be able to connect to the internet unless a mobile data plan is available and activated on the device.

5.4. Do I have to maintain the WiFi connection while using the product?

No. A WiFi connection is needed for the initial setup only and when you wish to change a parameter. Subsequently there is no need for any connection between the module and your phone.

5.5. How many SH-CAN modules can I pair and use with my phone?

There’s no limit, but only one can be connected at a time. If you have paired multiple SH-CAN modules to your phone, make sure only one is powered up at a time within range.

5.6. How many phones/tablets can I pair and use with my SH-CAN module?

There’s no limit, but only one can be connected at a time. If you paired your SH-CAN module to more phones, make sure only one has the WiFi enabled within range.

5.7. Is there a way to ensure no one else has access to my SH-CAN module?

Yes. You may create a PIN code via the SH-CAN app. It is stored in your phone, so you do not have to enter it every time, only if you try the connection from another phone.

5.8. I lost/replaced my phone. Did I lose my settings, too?

No. The settings are stored in your SH-CAN module. If you connect to the module with a new phone, the settings are automatically transferred to the phone.

5.9. How many different SH-CAN settings can I store on my phone?

There’s no limit. Within the SH-CAN app, you can manage your settings (overwrite, rename, delete).

5.10. When connecting to the module, I get a notification that new firmware is available. Is it safe to run the update?

Yes. With our zero-risk update technology, the module firmware can be updated even if the process was interrupted previously.

5.11. What is the WiFi working range of the module?

The working range is affected by the module’s position on the bike and the phone’s WiFi capabilities (there are big differences between phone models). Normally, you should be able to connect to the module from about 3m with the seat on.

5.12. How can I upload/save the settings to the module?

Upload is automatic (while the SH-CAN module is connected and the app shows a green WiFi sign) and happens instantly after you make any change in the app.

5.13. My language is not supported in the app yet. What can I do?

Language pack translations for the app are done by our distributors. Please contact the distributor in your country for more information.
