R&G Racing make three types of crash bobbins to protect the axle/swingarm/chain wheel/drive shaft area.
- "Cotton Reels" - prefix RG-CRxxxx
These generally install on the swingarm using the mounting point for the paddock stand mounts. They are dual-function in that the bobbins have an hourglass shape so they can be used as lifting points for a paddock stand as well as providing protection for that side of the bike.
- "Swingarm Protectors" - prefix RG-SPxxxx
These generally install in the axle. They may be a pair or a single bobbin depending on the bike. They may also use an offset mounting where necessary. The bobbin is round and not suitable for use with a paddock stand.
- "Spindle Sliders" - prefix RG-SSxxxx
These install in the axle, usually using a through-axle bar. They are dual-function in that the bobbins have an hourglass shape so they can be used as lifting points for a paddock stand as well as providing protection for that side of the bike.
