DENALI Dialdim Controller

The DialDim controller enables you to control two sets of auxiliary lights from one switch.
The DialDim is not a simple switch: it has unique advanced functions.

• Dim/vary the intensity of the lights^** with a visual indication on the control.
  **Please note the dimming function/control of intensity uses 3-wire control which all DENALI lights have. Some other premium brands also have 3-wire control. If your lights only have two wires then they cannot be dimmed: they will be off or on at 100%.
• Activate the lights automatically with the use of the headlight main beam
• Switch one light of Set 1 off when the indicators are used
• Activate light set 2 together with the indicators
• Activate all lights together with the horn
• Visual indication of the lights status (on/off) and current intensity

How does the DialDim Work?

The DialDim has four power output connections so it can connect to two sets of two lights and control them independently.

When using two sets of lights it is common that Set 1 are powerful white spotlights while Set 2 are lower-power daytime running lights which may be white or amber.

Basic Use

Pressing the switch once (blue halo) will switch on the lights Set 1, turning the knob will change (and store) the intensity of Set 1.
Pressing the switch twice (green halo) will switch on the lights Set 2, turning the knob will change (and store) the intensity of Set 2.
The halo light shows the programmed intensity of both sets of lights.

Advanced/Optional Control Features

All the following options are enabled by connecting one of the control/trigger wires as indicated. These are optional: if the wires are not connected, the feature is not enabled.

Main Beam Sync

DialDim blue input wire is connected to the main beam light.
When the main beam light is used, both sets of auxiliary lights will be automatically switched to 100%, even if they are off/set to 0%.

Cancel with Turn

DialDim yellow input wire is connected to a left indicator. DialDim orange input wire is connected to a right indicator.
When an indicator is used, the opposite side light of Set 1 is switched off to give greater visibility to the indicator.

Flash with Turn

The same connections are used as “Cancel with Turn”. DialDim yellow input wire connected to a left indicator. DialDim orange input wire is connected to a right indicator.
When an indicator is used, the same side light of Set 2 will flash in sync with the indicator. The lights of set 2 should be amber/yellow when using this option.

Strobe with Horn

DialDim green input wire is connected to the horn. When the horn is used, both sets of lights will flash rapidly at 4Hz.

Additional Features

• The DialDim is isolated from the battery when the ignition is off. The DialDim white input wire is connected to a key-switched source to enable the DataDIm with the ignition.
• Electronic fuses: each of the two circuits are electronically fused/protected. The rating is set directly from the control switch.
  If a circuit is overloaded, the halo will flash red. The electronic fuse can be reset from the switch too!
• Battery voltage check: on switching the ignition, if the detected battery voltage is below 11.8v, the halo will flash red.
  If the detected voltage is below 10.8v, the auxiliary lights will be automatically disabled.

• Eight intensity levels per circuit (5%, 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, 75%, 100%)
• Eight electronic fuse ratings per circuit (1A, 2A, 4A, 6A, 8A, 10A, 15A, 20A). Total maximum current 30A.
• Five input wires: white-ignition control, blue-high beam control, yellow-left turn control, orange-right turn control, green-horn control
• Operating Voltage 12v.
