The Oxygen/Lambda Sensor Emulator OSE-24 from HealTech Electronics allows the removal of the exhaust oxygen sensor and prevents the “FI” error detection warning light on the dash. This product is compatible with these bikes:
Legal NoticeThis product is intended for vehicles used in closed-circuit racing and NOT for use on public roads. An Oxygen Sensor Eliminator/Emulator enables the disconnection/removal of the factory oxygen (lambda) sensor and prevents the ECU detecting and showing an “FI” error code on the dashboard. Why do you need an Oxygen Sensor Emulator? If the original sensor has failed and you do not wish to replace it, or you have changed the exhaust system and there is no place to install the lambda sensor, you need an emulator to prevent/hide the fault detection. How does the OSE work?OSE-xxx: replicates the characteristics of the original sensor. The ECU does not detect the missing O2 sensor, so no fault is shown. OSE-E5x: prevents the display of the “FI” error. What is the difference between the HealTech OSE-xxx and OSE-E5x eliminators?
Features of the OSE
Why do bikes have O2 sensors?O2 sensors are part of the exhaust system. They measure how much oxygen is present in the exhaust. The ECU uses this measurement to adjust the air-fuel ratio in the engine for two main reasons: to keep emissions as low as possible and to keep fuel consumption as low as possible. Whether you just want to disconnect a faulty O2 sensor, or are having a dyno tune, the O2 sensor is an obstacle. However, disconnecting the O2 sensor from the bike’s ECU will instantly result in the “FI” light coming on...so you need an emulator. What is an Oxygen/Lambda Sensor? The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter to measure the amount of remaining oxygen in the exhaust gas. Some vehicles may have a second sensor after the catalytic convert for more precise measurements. Excess oxygen indicates an inefficient combustion and so the fuel management system uses the data from the sensor to adjust the fuel mixture for better efficiency and reduce emissions.
