An Oxygen Sensor Eliminator/Emulator enables the disconnection/removal of the factory oxygen (lambda) sensor and prevents the ECU detecting and showing an “FI” error code on the dashboard.

Why do you need an Oxygen Sensor Emulator?

If the original sensor has failed and you do not wish to replace it, or you have changed the exhaust system and there is no place to install the lambda sensor, you need an emulator to prevent/hide the fault detection.

How does the OSE work?

OSE-xxx: replicates the characteristics of the original sensor. The ECU does not detect the missing O2 sensor, so no fault is shown.

OSE-E5x: prevents the display of the “FI” error.

What is the difference between the HealTech OSE-xxx and OSE-E5x eliminators?

  OSE-xx OSE-E5x (EURO5)
Where is it installed? Replaces the Lambda/oxygen sensor: plugs into the bike harness. Plugs into the diagnostic/data connector.
Can the original O2 sensors be removed Yes No, both sensors must be installed.
How many are required? One OSE-xx per sensor replacement. One OSE-5x per bike.
Requires a wiring modification? No modification necessary / 100% Plug & Play
What FI errors are eliminated? Clears only the O2-related errors: errors for other reasons will still be shown.
Can the catalytic converter be removed? Yes
Can the whole exhaust be replaced? Yes
Can the fuel mapping be modified by a third-part device? Yes
Can it be used with/without an exhaust servo eliminator (ESE)? Yes
Can it be used with/without a PAIR system eliminator (PSE)? Yes
It is a permanent modification? No. Simply unplug the emulator to remove the modification.
Where can I use the emulator? Only for Off-Road/Race use. Not to be used on public roads (to comply with emission laws)
Warranty period Three years (Spain)

Features of the OSE

  • 100% Plug and Play installation. All OSE are supplied with connectors that match your bike. No cutting or splicing of cables.
  • 100% Waterproof. All OSE are epoxy-sealed for protection against the most demanding conditions.
  • Three-year warranty (Spain)

Why do bikes have O2 sensors?

O2 sensors are part of the exhaust system. They measure how much oxygen is present in the exhaust.

The ECU uses this measurement to adjust the air-fuel ratio in the engine for two main reasons: to keep emissions as low as possible and to keep fuel consumption as low as possible.
However, keeping the emissions low usually means the bike is running lean (uses more air than fuel), mostly in the lower RPM range. This can result in an uneven power delivery and a slow throttle response.

Whether you just want to disconnect a faulty O2 sensor, or are having a dyno tune, the O2 sensor is an obstacle. However, disconnecting the O2 sensor from the bike’s ECU will instantly result in the “FI” light coming on...so you need an emulator.

What is an Oxygen/Lambda Sensor?

The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter to measure the amount of remaining oxygen in the exhaust gas. Some vehicles may have a second sensor after the catalytic convert for more precise measurements.

Excess oxygen indicates an inefficient combustion and so the fuel management system uses the data from the sensor to adjust the fuel mixture for better efficiency and reduce emissions.
